In this course fundamental stress and strain principles will be covered. The focus will be on both normal and shear stresses and its relating elongations. It also focuses on calculations for bolts, welds and power transmission through shafts. Moreover, stresses developed in pressure vessels (PVs) and thickness analysis considered. Kinematics and dynamics of moving particles both in linear and non-linear trajectories explained. This is followed by introductions to forms of energy and how they can be transferred in mechanics of machines. Mechanical Vibrations for simple harmonic motions will also covered.
